Getting Started

This section takes you from nothing to a working setup: how to log in, what you see first, how to move around, and what a sensible first week looks like.

Colleag.ai is a product development platform with AI colleagues in it. You talk to an agent, it writes into your documentation, and you decide what gets published. Everything it writes is a plain file in your own Git repository, so nothing is locked inside the tool.

What you need before you begin

You need Details
An account Your organisation's owner or admin invites you by email. There is no self-service signup — see Logging in.
A modern browser Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, kept up to date. Colleag is a web app; nothing to install.
A company profile Someone in your organisation fills in Settings → Company once. Agents give much better answers when they know your industry, size and markets.
At least one product Product Development agents only work once a product is selected. Commercial, Corporate and Quality System agents work without one.

Credits

Every agent answer costs credits, shown at the top right of the workspace. Larger models cost more per answer — the multiplier is next to each model name in the chat composer. When credits run low the number turns amber, and red when it is nearly gone.

Your first steps

  1. Log in with your work account.
  2. Get your bearings in your workspace — chat on the left, documents on the right.
  3. Learn how the navigation works so you can find agents, conversations and settings.
  4. Ask your first question. Pick a discipline in the composer and type a real question about your work.

A typical first week

Do these in order. The whole thing takes an afternoon plus a few follow-ups.

  1. Fill in the company profile. Go to Settings → Company and describe your company: name, size, industries, target markets. Agents read this before every answer, so this single step improves everything downstream. The workspace nudges you until it is done.

  2. Invite your team. Settings → Members, enter an email, pick a role (Owner, Admin, Engineer or Viewer) and send. See Settings & Admin.

  3. Create your first product. Click + New next to Product Development in the sidebar. Choose Product Development to start from scratch, or Product Maintenance to import documents you already have. Full walkthrough: Products.

  4. Let the roundtable kick it off. A newly created product opens straight into the roundtable, where every enabled agent looks at the product and says what is missing from its own angle. Read the directives it produces — that is your backlog. See The roundtable.

  5. Work one document properly. Open a document in the canvas, ask the owning agent to improve it, accept the suggestions you agree with. This is the loop you will use every day: Documents and the canvas.

  6. Publish once. Click Publish, tick the documents you are happy with, write what changed and publish. Learn the difference between a draft, a published document and a frozen baseline in Publishing and reviews.

  7. Connect your systems. If you run an ERP, connect it under Settings → Integrations. Sales and Procurement agents then answer from live data instead of guessing: Integrations and your ERP.

  8. Load your standards and SOPs. Point Colleag at the standards you work to and the procedures you follow, so the Quality and Regulatory agents cite real requirements: Standards and SOPs.
